Djuwa is currently working on two projects, the first of which is Hou Zelf Je Bek (English: Shut The Fuck Up Yourself), which will premiere at Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ (Amsterdam) on December 28th 2025. For this project, Djuwa is researching the politics behind silence and neutrality in concert halls and public spaces. Which bodies and behaviors are seen as distractive, dangerous or “too loud” - and why? What does it take to enforce silence and neutrality in concert halls and public spaces? And why should silence or neutrality be desirable when the world is on fire? Catch Djuwa outside, hanging out in Amsterdam neighborhoods that are slowly gentrifying. Or in a library reading comic books about aliens: the ultimate “disruptive others”. In any case, get tickets for Hou Zelf Je Bek!

The second project cooking in the diva’s lab is Mx. CoelaCunt Will Live Forever, produced by Theater Rotterdam. For this musical theatre piece Djuwa is aiming to blend together queer, Comorian, anti-colonial and prehistoric fish histories into a unique story. A story exploring collective remembering, mourning, celebrating, dreaming, resisting and revolting. Djuwa will be in the Comoros all summer enjoying sunshine, playing and listening to music, researching, and chilling on beaches. Your emails may or may not find her.
